Assistant Professor Plant Pathology, University of Florida

This is a 9-month tenure-accruing position that will be 50% teaching (College of Agricultural and Life Sciences) and 50% research (Florida Agricultural Experiment Station), available in the Department of Plant Pathology, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, at the University of Florida.  This assignment may change in accordance with the needs of the unit.  We seek scholars with significant teaching experience at the undergraduate level and with evidence of a developed research trajectory.  The successful candidate will contribute to excellence in undergraduate teaching, undergraduate curriculum development, and one or more key department needs in the area of sustainable plant research. Possible related areas of research may include plant genome-based investigation of disease and stress resistance for rapid deployment of plant germplasm, microbiome and plant community composition in relation to plant disease, or biotechnological approaches to crop protection.
