POST-DOCTORAL POSITION IN PLANT PROTECTION AND IMMUNITY-HEINLEIN team-IBMP, CNRS, France

Our team is interested to identify the molecular mechanisms of virus movement and antiviral defencein plantsand to design new approaches for crop protection. We are looking for a suitable postdoctoral candidate to work in the frame of the international ERA-NET SusCrop2-fundedproject“BioProtect”, which aims to develop cost-effective and environmentally safe dsRNA-based agents for protecting crops against viruses, fungi, and insects, and to further understand the functional basis of dsRNA-induced immunity. Together with international partnersin Germany and Finland, the appointed postdoc will design, produce, formulate and test agents for protecting vegetable crops against specific plant viruses and address the molecular nature of the protective mechanism by molecular and cell biology approaches. Moreover, the influence of temperature on virus infection, on the protective effect of the dsRNA agents, and on the underlying mechanisms will be investigated. The position is located at the IBMP in Strasbourg (France) and available for 36 months, starting in June 2021
