Postdoctoral Research Associate, WSU Prosser IAREC
,This postdoctoral position, will be in Dr. Harper’s lab located at WSU-IAREC, Prosser, WA. This position is focused on the study of systemically infecting virus and virus-like pathogens affecting tree fruit in the Pacific Northwest. The incumbent will be expected to carry out a combination of field, greenhouse, and lab-based studies to understand the epidemiology and pathogenicity of Little cherry virus-2 and the X-disease phytoplasma affecting stonefruit in the Pacific Northwest. Additional research duties will be assigned at the discretion of the PI. The incumbent is expected to interact with growers, stakeholders, and other industry groups, to attend and present their research at meetings and conferences, and to publish their findings in peer-reviewed journals. They will be part of the larger little cherry disease response taskforce Northwest, and are expected to interact and assist other team members in a professional and courteous manner.
