Research Professor in Plant Health

Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) is a research organisation working to promote bioeconomy and sustainable use of natural resources. The research professorship in plant health is focused on integrated pest management in field and horticulture crops in changing climate. Within the area of plant health, special attention is paid to knowing and monitoring pests (weeds, insects, plant diseases) in aim to develop and design diverse and resilient cropping systems that are resilient and less susceptible to disturbances. The research provides technical knowledge and management solutions for sustainable agriculture mainly in the boreal zone. The person nominated in the position is expected to actively develop the strategic orientation of research, lead the development of large-scale project entities, and procurement of long-term broad-based research funding.
